The 'Step by Step' Association of Help for Disabled Children in Zamosc is a public benefit organisation which was granted a distinction award in the first edition of the PRO PUBLICO BONO Civic Initiative of the Decade Contest and was awarded the first prize in the sixth edition of the contest. It was founded in 1990 as an initiative of parents and friends of disabled children.

The Association carries out its statutory activities free of charge as public benefit activities. The Association's activities offering integrated rehabilitation, education and social help to children with cerebral palsy are the only professional service of the kind carried out in south-east Poland. They are provided through organizing and financing Rehabilitation-Therapeutic Centres for Disabled Children in Zamosc (founded in 1992) and Bilgoraj (founded in 1993) as well as Occupational Therapy Workshops in Zamosc (founded in 2003) and in Bilgoraj (founded in 1999), The Centre of Social Activation (founded in 2006), The Therapeutic-Recreational Park in Bondyrz founded in 2007.

which provide complex rehabilitation, education and care to about 2000 children and young people (200 day care and 1800 ambulatory patients). The centres provide pre-school education, primary school education, junior high school education of the mainstream and special type, high school education and vocation-orientated education. The Association is well-known in the country and appreciated for its educational activities (trainings and conferences on the problems of disability and the System of Conductive Education) and publishing activities ( 21 printed publications and instruction videos).

Through its country-level activities the Association participates in creating system solutions for the sake of disabled people.
